A home oxygen concentrator runs around the clock, so unlike a fridge or a pump it never gives the battery a rest. Starting one is not the hard part; what separates stations is how many hours they last before they need recharging, and only the large ones get through a night.

Tips
- Our figures assume a stationary concentrator drawing about 300W continuously. Check the label on yours: smaller and newer units can use much less, and high-flow units more.
- Portable oxygen concentrators use a fraction of the power and have their own batteries, so a small station can recharge those many times over.
- A UPS / pass-through mode lets the station take over automatically if the grid fails, including overnight.
